Time & Location
About The Event
Deacon Jim McFadden as we reflect on our Advent journey.
Dec 9: 3rd Sunday of Advent: Tell John What You See and Hear John the Baptist is languishing in prison and while he is leaning towards Jesus as the Messiah, he still has some questions: “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” (Mt 11:3). People then and now were wondering aloud, “Is Jesus really the Messiah—the one promised by the prophets?” How do we tell?
Dec 16: 4th Sunday of Advent: History is Going Somewhere, and it Rhymes As the Advent season comes to its climax, we are reminded that all of time and history comes to a kind of fulfillment in the Messiah. All of he strands of history are gathered together in him. This Sunday’s readings show a pattern of history that spans seven centuries and call out to us now 2,000 years later. It’s all about Jesus.
